The Daily Express has gone with a similar story to The Times, saying coronavirus infections have fallen for the fifth day in a row, raising hopes that the third wave has peaked.


According to The Times, Britain is seeing a sustained fall in reported COVID-19 cases outside of lockdown for the first time since the pandemic began.

The Daily Mirror says it is believed pictures of a woman posing with Wayne Rooney as he slept on a chair, that were shared online, have been reported as a possible crime after the football manager called the police.

Union leaders are encouraging key workers in transport and food to avoid the self-isolation exemption set out by the government and stay at home if told to do so, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The Guardian says increasing numbers of young people with coronavirus are being admitted to hospital, with doctors begging them not to “suffer unnecessarily” and to get vaccinated.Up to 50,000 cases of dementia were missed during lockdown, with around one in ten sufferers going undiagnosed because referrals to memory all but stopped at the start of the pandemic, writes the Daily Mail.
The Metro front page leads with a story about Health Secretary Sajid Javid apologising for his tweet that suggested people should not “cower” from coronavirus.
Ministers are looking at ways to remove China’s state-owned nuclear energy company from all future UK power projects, according to the Financial Times.
