3 reported missing persons found, police investigations still on

THE Malawi Police Service (MPS) is investigating media reports claiming that four people have gone missing in separate incidences.

According to MPS Public Relations Officer, ACP James Kadadzera the first incident was reported in Zomba of a 19 year old Emmanuel Chibwana.

"At the meantime, Police detectives are on the ground following clues to trace Chibwana. In the second incident, which was reported in Lilongwe about Tiyamike Donda who went missing a few days ago, it is reported that she has been found in Blantyre.

"She also went for medical attention at Blantyre Adventist Hospital. Our investigators will get the whole story from her and from other sources if indeed her case should be treated as a case of a missing person to avoid misinforming Malawians,"He said.

ACP James Kadadzera adding that, the third incident concerns a young man, Peter Konzani, who reportedly went missing in Mzuzu, latest information shows that, he has been found and is admitted at Mzuzu Central Hospital.

"Preliminary inquiries show that he was drunk and unruly prompting to his being forced out of a vehicle.

"The fourth case being circulated on social media depicts a young girl, Chimwemwe Damison, who allegedly went missing while going to school, latest reports indicate the girl has been found in full health. It is reported that she followed her friend from school and they put up at the friend's house.

"The mother to the girl has confirmed to the police that the girl is safe and sound, and that she is now in her custody,"said ACP James Kadadzera.
