DODOMA-The Treasury Registrar, Mr Nehemiah Mchechu, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, held discussions with the Director General of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC), Engineer Machibya Shiwa, and the Acting Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA), Mr Abdallah Mhagama.
The discussions, which also involved experts from the three institutions, took place at LATRA’s offices in Dodoma and aimed at enhancing the operational performance of TRC.
The Office of the Treasury Registrar oversees a total of 308 public institutions and companies in which the Government holds minority shares.
Of these, 252 institutions – including TRC and LATRA are those in which the Government holds a majority stake, while the remaining 56 are companies in which the Government holds minority shares.
