THE Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) is closely monitoring the progress of Severe Tropical Storm CHENGE over the Indian Ocean, currently located approximately 1,680 kilometers east of the Mtwara coast, in the north-eastern part of Madagascar.
According to the latest analysis, the system is expected to move westward towards the Tanzanian coast while gradually weakening in intensity.This is likely to bring slightly enhanced rainfall, strong winds, and large waves between October 26th and 28th, 2025, particularly in the regions of Mtwara, Lindi, Pwani, Dar es Salaam and Tanga, as well as the islands of Unguja and Pemba.
