President of Mozambique to undertake a three-day working visit to Tanzania

AT the invitation by Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Daniel Francisco Chapo, President of the Republic of Mozambique, will undertake a three-day working visit to the United Republic of Tanzania from 2nd to 4th July 2026.
During the visit, H.E. President Chapo will hold bilateral talks with his host, H.E. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, transport and energy, as well as exploring new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

On 3rd July 2026, H.E. President Chapo is expected to officially inaugurate the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba.

The annual international event brings together traders, investors and business leaders from Tanzania and abroad to promote trade, investment and economic cooperation.

During his stay in Tanzania, H.E. President Chapo will also pay a courtesy call on Mama Maria Nyerere, widow of the Founding Father of the United Republic of Tanzania, the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, in recognition of the invaluable contribution made by the founding leaders of Tanzania and Mozambique in strengthening the historic bonds of friendship between the two countries and advancing Africa’s liberation struggle.

H.E. President Chapo’s visit underscores the continued commitment of the leaders of Tanzania and Mozambique to deepening their strategic partnership, advancing economic diplomacy, and preserving the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
