ECZ briefs key stakeholders ahead of August 13 General Elections

NAKONDE-The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) today briefed key stakeholders in the electoral process ahead of the August 13 General Elections at Nakonde Secondary School.
The briefing brought together polling agents, faith-based organisations, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and the media. The stakeholders were reminded to follow the laid-down procedures during the electoral process and ensure that all activities are conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner.

The District Electoral Officer (DEO) for Nakonde, Mr Donald K. Mwanza expressed happiness with the turnout and encouraged all stakeholders to work together to ensure a smooth and peaceful electoral process.

This was followed by a briefing of uniformed officers. The officers were reminded to maintain peace and order during and after the elections.
They were also instructed to provide security for all electoral equipment and personnel, ensure that no political activities take place within the designated perimeter areas, remain in uniform, and discharge their duties diligently and professionally.

The briefing was led by District Officer Command Mr Sylvester Kabaso of the Zambia Police, with Officer in Charge, Nakonde Police Station, and Mr Lastone Hanyama

The meeting also included a post-mortem of the poll staff training program.

The DEO said meeting all key stakeholders was important to ensure that everyone understands their role and responsibilities in the electoral process.
With only a few days remaining before the General Elections, all stakeholders were encouraged to put in their best efforts and work together to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and successful electoral process in the district.
