The National Maritime Institute of Mozambique (INAMAR) inspected and granted a scientific research licence to the Norwegian vessel Dr Fridtjof Nansen on Monday afternoon.
The vessel will carry out a 42-day offshore expedition to assess the sustainability and stocks of fishery resources, as well as marine ecosystems, along Mozambique’s coastline.

The inspection and verification of documentation were conducted by a team led by Acácio Beleza, Acting Director of INAMAR’s Maritime Inspection Division, and accompanied by the Master Mariner of the Maputo Maritime Administration, Daniel Ndeco.

The delegation was received by the vessel’s captain, Tommy Seeffensen, who guided a tour of the ship’s compartments.
