Saudi Arabia tops Arab countries, ranks 20th in global maritime transport-NCTAD report

Saudi Arabia topped the Arab countries and ranked 20th globally in the maritime transport industry, according to the annual report of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) for the year 2020.

To mark the development, the Transport General Authority, expressed its pride that the Kingdom topped the list of Arab countries for the second year in a row and that it had advanced three ranks globally to rank 20th in the maritime transport industry.

The authority said, in a statement, that achieving this position has come as a result of the capacity of the tonnage of the Saudi maritime fleet, exceeding 13.5 million tons. — SG
