Breakfast meeting with Minister Subrahmanyan Jaishankar from India

DAR ES SALAAM (July 7th, 2023)-A breakfast meeting between the Minister of External Affairs of the Government of India and Members of Parliament of Tanzania (2 MPs from Mainland & 2 MPs from Zanzibar) was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel (Kilimanjaro Hotel).
A very fruitful discussion on several bilateral issues was held. They included our (Tanzania & India) bilateral cooperation and partnerships in:education, health, agriculture, water, energy, space science & technology (i.e., satellite construction) and professional training and exchange programmes.

We also discussed the prospective Africa's involvement in G20 (India is the current Chair) and BRICS economic affairs.

We also (both sides) stressed the importance of maintaining the existing close fruitful cooperation between our governments and their parliaments.

The Tanzanian side requested India to support its IPU presidential candidacy (Hon Dr Tulia Ackson) and deploy its (India) Asian influence to support us in this election. Hon Minister S Jaishankar accepted to deliver our request to the Speaker of the Indian Parliament - positive expectations were given!
