ZANZIBAR-The Zanzibar Utilities Regulatory Authority (ZURA) has announced new fuel prices for the month of June 2025, showing a price reduction for all fuel products.
Speaking to journalists at the ZURA conference hall, the Authority’s Public Relations Manager, Mr. Mbarak Hassan Haji, stated that the new prices will officially take effect from June 9, 2025.He announced the June 2025 fuel prices as follows; Petrol: TZS 2,968 per litre (previously 2,969),Diesel: TZS 3,162 per litre (previously 3,191),Kerosene: TZS 3,150 per litre (previously 3,200) and Jet fuel: TZS 2,521 per litre (previously 2,537).
The manager explained that the pricing structure is based on various factors, including the average changes in global oil prices,importation costs through Tanga Port,fluctuations in foreign exchange rates,transportation, insurance, and other fees,
profit margins for both wholesale and retail fuel sellers.
Mr.Haji added that, the price decrease this month is mainly attributed to positive changes in the exchange rate of the Tanzanian Shilling.
ZURA has urged the public to purchase fuel from officially recognized stations, and to demand electronic receipts (EFDs) for every transaction, to facilitate service delivery in case of any issues.
According to its regular procedure, ZURA announces new fuel prices on the 8th of every month.
