DAR-The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has marked a major achievement in global academic leadership following the appointment of Prof. Nelson Boniface, Deputy Vice Chancellor-Research and Associate Professor of Geology at the School of Mines and Geosciences, as an Associate Editor of the 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝑬𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔, a leading peer-reviewed journal published by Elsevier.
Congratulating him, UDSM Vice Chancellor Prof. William A. L. As Associate Editor, Prof. Nelson Boniface joins a distinguished international editorial team under the leadership of Editors-in-Chief Dr. Damien Delvaux, Dr. Zakaria Hamimi, and Dr. Read Mapeo, contributing to high-quality research on Africa’s geology, mineral resources, and earth systems.
An internationally recognised Tanzanian geoscientist, Prof. Boniface has led impactful research, capacity-building initiatives, and international collaborations, strengthening African representation in global scientific publishing and advancing geoscience scholarship across the continent.
