JUBA-His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit held a meeting with the Vice Presidents, His Excellencies Dr James Wani Igga, Taban Deng Gai, Rebecca Nyandeng Garang De’ Mabior and the Speaker of Transitional National Legislative Assembly Rt Hon Jemma Nunu Kumba who paid him a courtesy meeting to discuss the general political, economic and security situation of the Country.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Director in the Office of the President Hon. James Deng Wal today Thursday 20th January 2022.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Hon. James Deng Wal said, the meeting deliberated on the status of the ongoing implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement and the mechanisms to expedite it's implementation.
Hon. James Deng Wal said, H.E. the President re-affirmed his commitments to fast-track the ongoing implementation of Revitalized Peace Agreement and has urged the rebel groups to observe the ceasefire.
Hon. James Deng added that the meeting also deliberated on the general security situation in the Country, with specific attention to Western Equatoria and Central Equatoria State.
In addition, the three Vice Presidents and the Speaker of Transitional National Legislative Assembly extended their condolences to H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit and his family for the loss of his brother Akook Mayardit Thiik who passed on in his home town, Akon recently.
