Emirati and Japanese drumming bands, Kharsha and Sai, to perform at Sheikh Zayed Festival this Saturday

ABU DHABI-The Sheikh Zayed Festival has announced a live musical show by Emirati drumming band, “Kharsha”, and the Japanese drumming group, “Sai” this weekend on Saturday 17th December.

The bands will perform live in the spirit of tolerance and harmony among people from different parts of the world. The rhythm of drums and tunes of the Japanese flute will fill the Festival’s air with beautiful music played by the hands of Emirati and Japanese talents.

The band's founder was inspired to give the band the name, Kharsha, an Emirati word, meaning joy and happiness.

The word is a perfect representation of the band’s zealous performance on the drums and flute. Sai band, on the other hand, is famous for singing in various languages and has performed in Japan and 25 other countries.

The bands’ performance at the Festival will include solo and collective performances by musical pieces on flute accompanied by the Japanese drums. The music performed is a fusion that perfectly blends the two cultures.

The famous Kharsha band was founded by Emirati and Japanese students, brought together by the passion for music and a common desire to showcase an interesting fusion between the Emirati and Japanese cultures.

Kharsha and Sai rose to fame and have participated in many high-profile events, especially those that reflect the UAE–Japanese cultural relations through performances and shows designed to reflect the vibrancy of the two cultures.

The characteristic that distinguishes them from other cultural bands is the perfect synchronization of the two in music form, in addition to the ability to keep their audiences engaged while they perform, regardless of nationalities and ages, in all the shows they play.

The Sheikh Zayed Festival also hosts on Friday, 16th December 2022, various entertainment events and activities, including a concert that brings together Emirati artists Mohammed Al Briki and Mohammed Al Saqri at the Heritage Village Stage where they will perform some of their famous songs.

The Festival attracts the participation of a myriad of amazing performers, artists, pop shows, folkloric groups from around the world, heritage shows and entertainment events, which not only aim to bring joy to guests and visitors but also convey the UAE’s noble values of inclusivity and humanity through the perfect platform for artistic and cultural exchange.
