Volunteers at the Sheikh Zayed Festival demonstrate the Emirati noble value of generosity

ABU DHABI (UAE)- The Sheikh Zayed Festival, which is running until March 18th 2023, is an authentic display of the culture of giving as one of the inherent noble values of the UAE.

Once visitors step into the main gates of the Festival, they will be met by volunteers who seek to provide them with all the support they need, as they are warmly welcomed into the global gathering and celebration of cultural heritage.
Hundreds of Emirati young men and women are strategically placed around the Festival grounds including its pavilions to provide support to the Festival’s function.

They are also tasked with welcoming visitors from the UAE, the region, and all over the world with warmth and enthusiasm. They offer assistance to visitors while organizing and delivering the event’s objectives and making sure of the success of the Festival.

Volunteers at the Festival take great pride in participating in this global event and they wait for the Festival each year to take part in.

Volunteering at the Festival for them enhances their professional experience and helps their personal development because the international platform brings together many different cultures, celebrates diversity and gives them a golden opportunity to interact with different nationalities.

Multi-cultural exposure enables them to learn about social responsibility and public service in its best form, through community participation throughout the Festival's running years.

Humaid Abdullah Al Marzouqi, General Supervisor of “Takatof” program of the Emirates Foundation at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, believes that volunteering at the Festival is an honor for all volunteers because it takes the name of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is known for his legacy of many humanitarian endeavors.

According to Marzouqi, more than 250 volunteers provide their support by helping with operational on-ground tasks at the Festival since it began on November 18th, 2022 and will run until March 18, 2023. Takatof’s volunteers are distributed around various pavilions and events. Volunteers are present from the gates to information desks and provides assistance to visitors such as answering questions and participating in daily events.
