THE Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Hon. Juraj Blanár, is scheduled to visit the United Republic of Tanzania from 10th to 11th June 2026.
The visit is taking place in the context of strengthening diplomatic relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Slovak Republic.
During the visit, Hon. Blanár will hold bilateral talks with his host Ambassador Dr. Kombo on the importance of deepening cooperation in the areas of tourism, education, scholarship programmes,cybersecurity, trade, and investment.
Hon. Blanár, accompanied by Ambassador Dr. Kombo, will also officiate the inauguration of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Dar es Salaam, which was established in November 2025.
The establishment of the Embassy marks an important milestone in the bilateral relations between Tanzania and Slovakia and is expected to facilitate closer engagement and cooperation in areas of mutual interest between the two countries.
In addition, Hon. Blanár will participate in the Tanzania–Slovakia Business Forum, which will bring together business leaders and private sector representatives from both countries to explore trade and investment opportunities, promote technology transfer, and strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors,including renewable energy, agro-processing, and digital innovation.
The visit therefore, provides a valuable opportunity to advance bilateral cooperation, expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest, and elevate relations between the two countries to new heights.
It is also expected to inject renewed momentum into the historic ties between Tanzania and Slovakia, whose roots date back to the era of the former Czechoslovakia.
In recent years, Tanzania has recorded a significant increase in the number of tourists from Slovakia visiting the country, creating new opportunities for cooperation in the tourism sector and further strengthening people-to-people relations between the Tanzania and Slovakia.
