The Minister for Works, Abdallah Ulega has embarked on a high-level tour of China and South Korea to court private investors for the construction of strategic roads in Tanzania through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework.
A statement issued by the Ministry stated that the initiative seeks to mobilise private capital for roads linking Tanzania with neighbouring countries, major ports and production centres, as well as domestic and international markets.
The targeted roads will also include key routes connecting commercial areas and regions with strong tourism potential, in a move expected to strengthen trade, transport, tourism and economic activity.
During his visit to China, Minister Ulega met and held meetings with potential investors and inspected major infrastructure projects being implemented under the PPP model.
