Bank of Tanzania (BoT) injects USD 35.00 million into Interbank Foreign Exchange Market (IFEM)

THE Bank of Tanzania (BoT) intervened in the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market (IFEM) according to its Foreign Exchange Intervention Policy, 2023.
In this intervention, the Bank sold USD 35.00 million through an auction at a weighted average exchange rate of TZS 2,697.17 per USD.

The aim of this auction was to create an avenue for providing liquidity in the foreign exchange market and facilitate attainment of monetary policy objectives.
