DAR-The prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene for the month of June,2025 have continued to offer relief to motor vehicle users in the country compared to the prices in May,2025.
According to a statement released today, June 4, 2025, by the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), for fuel received at the Dar es Salaam Port, the price of petrol has decreased by TZS 72.16, diesel by TZS 51.89, and kerosene by TZS 184.93.
At the Tanga port, the price of petrol has dropped by TZS 69.41 while diesel has decreased by TZS 50.1. In Mtwara, petrol has decreased by TZS 71.65 and diesel by TZS 51.37.
Moreover, the prices for June 2025 reflect a decline in global oil market prices a 0.9% decrease for petrol, 3.4% for diesel, and 3.7% for kerosene respectively; a trend that has contributed to the reduction in the maximum prices for June 2025.
Additionally, the average cost of foreign currency exchange has declined by 0.63%, while the cost of importing fuel through Dar es Salaam Port has increased by an average of 4.34% for petrol, 22.43% for diesel, and decreased by 1.65% for kerosene.
At the Mtwara Port, importation costs have risen by an average of 51.55% for petrol, with no change recorded for diesel.
