BY DIRAMAKINI

THE Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has published the new cap prices for petroleum products in Tanzania, effective from Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 12:01 am.
In November 2025, the retail and wholesale prices of petroleum products in Dar es Salaam, Tanga, and Mtwara are depicted in tables
1 and 2, respectively.

Key Highlights:

■Retailers are required to sell petroleum products at prices indicated in Table 3, while wholesalers must sell at prices indicated in Table 2.

■Failure to comply with these instructions will result in legal action.

■EWURA encourages competition in the sector by making petroleum product pricing information available, including cap prices.

Important Reminders:

■Cap prices can be accessed through mobile phones by dialing *152*00# (free of charge).

Oil Marketing Companies can sell products at competitive prices, provided they do not exceed the price cap or go below the floor price.

■All petrol stations must display prices on clearly visible boards, showing prices charged, discounts, and promotions.

■Retailers must issue receipts printed from Electronic Fiscal Pump Printers (EFPPs) for all sales.

Consumer Awareness:

■Consumers are encouraged to purchase from stations offering competitive prices and better services.

■Consumers should demand and keep receipts showing the name of the petrol station, date, type of fuel, and price per liter.

The new prices are part of EWURA's efforts to regulate the petroleum sector and ensure fair competition.
