In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation said the government remains in constant communication with Tanzania’s diplomatic missions across the region to assess the evolving circumstances and safeguard national interests.
The Ministry advised Tanzanian nationals residing in or travelling within affected areas to exercise heightened vigilance and prioritize their personal safety.
Citizens were further urged to strictly adhere to guidance issued by local authorities as well as Tanzanian diplomatic missions.
“The Government is closely monitoring the situation and remains in contact with our diplomatic Missions in the region,” the statement noted.
Tanzania also reaffirmed its commitment to international peace and security, joining the global community in calling for restraint, de-escalation, and the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.
