iTrust Finance Limited Launches TZS 100 Billion Bond Programme to Boost Investment and Financial Inclusion

DAR-iTrust Finance Limited has officially launched its corporate bond, the first bond by a stockbroker and fund manager in Tanzania. This is a TZS 100 billion Medium-Term Note (MTN) Programme, marking a significant step in expanding investment opportunities and strengthening Tanzania’s capital markets.
The launch begins with the first tranche of the Programme, targeting TZS 15 billion with an additional TZS 5 billion greenshoe option, offering investors a fixed annual return of 13% over a four-year period. Interest will be paid quarterly with no withholding tax, providing investors with stable and predictable income streams.

The bond named the iTrust Bond, approved by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA), opened on 18 May 2026, and will close on 12 June, 2026. It will be listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), allowing investors to trade the Bond on the secondary market.

Speaking on the launch, iTrust highlighted that the bond has been structured to appeal to a wide range of investors, with a minimum investment threshold of TZS 500,000, making it accessible to both individual and institutional participants.

The company noted that the bond offers several key benefits, including competitive fixed returns, exemption from withholding tax on interest income, and enhanced portfolio diversification through fixed-income securities. The relatively shorter tenor and quarterly payment structure further position the bond as an attractive alternative to traditional government securities.

Proceeds from the bond issuance will be directed towards key strategic initiatives, including expanding the company’s lending capacity, investing in advanced digital platforms, and strengthening working capital to support continued growth.

To simplify subscription to the iTrust Bond, the CEO of iTrust Finance Limited, Mr Faiz Arab, demonstrated the seamless way that this can be done by unveiling the iTrust App. This is a one of its kind applications that allows users to invest in bonds, shares and funds and view their portfolio in one place.

iTrust Finance Limited is a licensed Tier 2 financial services provider regulated by the Bank of Tanzania and the CMSA. The company offers a broad range of financial services, including stock brokerage, investment advisory, fund management, and both conventional and Shariah-compliant lending through its Imaan Finance division.

With a strong market presence and a growing reputation as a trusted investment partner, iTrust aims to leverage this Programme to deepen participation in Tanzania’s financial markets while supporting inclusive economic growth.

Investors can access detailed information and apply for the bond through iTrust’s digital platforms: application, website and portal.
