Telecom Namibia has appointed Armando Perny as acting chief executive officer of the state-owned company.

This follows on the resignation of Telecom Namibia chief executive Stanley Shanapinda earlier this month.
Perny will assume the role on 1 July for one month while the company’s board of directors recruits a substantive chief executive.
Telecom Namibia board chairperson Fimanekeni Petrus on Monday said Perny’s experience within the company would ensure stability during the transition.
Perny “brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of Telecom Namibia’s operations and strategic priorities”, Petrus said.
He added: “His leadership will ensure continuity and stability as the board undertakes the process of appointing a substantive CEO.”
Petrus said said the board has full confidence in Perny’s ability to lead the company during the interim period and maintain its focus on serving customers and stakeholders.
