More than half of all employed Namibians are forcing themselves into debt simply to put food on the table, highlighting deep structural challenges in the national economy.
According to data from the Namibia Statistics Agency, 51.3% of the country's working population relies on borrowed money to purchase daily groceries.
The findings underscore an escalating cost-of-living crisis where formal employment no longer guarantees basic food security.
